Beautifying Avocado Recipes

Mediterranean Mtabbal Avocado recipe.

I like to make this recipe as a start-up with roasted or fried fish. It had been a tradition in my husband’s family to make it along with fish, so I learned the recipe from my mother-in-law since I did not know it before. It is similar in texture to hummus.

Ingredients:

1 avocado fruit

1 tablespoon of tahini

Lemon juice and salt to your taste

1 garlic mashed

Olive oil

Directions: Mash the avocado flesh using a fork, then add tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt. Put in a plan plate and drizzle olive oil over it.

Guacamole Recipe.

Another avocado recipe is the well-known American guacamole. My friend Allison, who writes brilliant reviews for beauty products on her blog Never Say Die Beauty, introduced me to this recipe. You can learn this guacamole recipe here.

Beautifying smoothie avocado recipe

What would be better on a hot summer day than a cool, anti-oxidant, delicious smoothie?!

I found this recipe on Dr. Oz’s official site; it is called “Paradise Smoothie” given by Keri Glassman, R.D., author of Slim, Calm, Sexy Diet: 365 Proven Food Strategies for Mind/Body Bliss.

Dr. Oz mentioned once that certain healthy foods could be more powerful when combined in a meal. Grapefruit is a well-known source of anti-oxidants that can repair the damage of skin and inflammation. And by combining it with avocado, the healthy fats in avocado make the absorption of the antioxidants much better. He recommends eating half of each 1-2 times a week.

7 Years Younger avocado Recipes

This is an interesting anti-aging plan from the editors of Good Housekeeping. I like the idea of combining fresh spinach with avocado.

Spinach Salad with Tuna and Avocado recipe:

 Ingredients

(Makes 4 servings)

3 tablespoons of  fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 ripe Hass avocado, cut in half, pitted and peeled

2 teaspoon fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, finely chopped

2 tablespoon snipped fresh chives

1 (5 oz) package baby spinach

2 stalks celery, thinly sliced

1 medium red pepper, thinly sliced

1 (15 oz) can white kidney (cannellini) beans, rinsed and drained

2 (5 oz) cans tuna packed in water, drained well

Pinch cayenne pepper

Pinch freshly grated black pepper and salt

Directions

In a blender, combine lemon juice, oil, water, mustard, half of avocado, cayenne pepper, and 1/4 tsp salt. Purée until smooth, scraping container occasionally. Stir in parsley and chives.

In a large bowl, toss spinach, celery, pepper, beans, and tuna with dressing. Divide among serving plates.

Thinly slice remaining avocado half and arrange on top of salads.

These avocado recipes are among some of the famous recipes in different parts of the world. Do you know some other avocado recipes? Are you going to use avocado in a recipe tonight? Tell us about it in the comments.
