4 Easy DIY Avocado Face Masks for Your Skin

07/02/2023 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  3 Comments

In a previous post, I introduced some avocado recipes that will give your skin and whole body the natural beauty you are seeking. Avocado smoothie for summer may be the best treatment for your skin, along with some recipes like “Mtabbal Avocado” from Mediterranean cuisine, and some other recipes as well. I also discussed the main avocado benefits for your skin and hair, including fighting acne, moisturizing dry skin when using homemade avocado face masks, shiny hair, and many more.

Many skin care products became aware of the avocado benefits to skin and that is obvious by the tremendous number of skin care products that have been adding avocado and avocado oil to their ingredients. I used to know that avocado is a good moisturizer for our skin, but after I made some research about avocado benefits, it turned out that there is a lot more to learn about this fruit.

You can eat avocados, apply to the skin in a homemade avocado face mask, and even better you can use it to compensate for other highly saturated sources of bad oils like mayonnaise.

As for today, my post focuses on some DIY homemade avocado face masks that will work well for oily skin, as well as other skin types.

DIY Homemade Avocado Face Masks:

#1 Honey and avocado face mask for Flaky, Scaly Skin.

This mask may seem sticky due to using honey, but it is worth trying for giving your dull dry skin moisture and a beautiful glow.

Ingredients :

  • 1 avocado fruit
  • 1 tablespoon of honey.

Directions: mash the avocado with honey until you form a paste-like consistency. Spread over your dry skin and cover with the cool washcloth pre-soaked with green tea (optional).

The good fats in the avocado will heal your dry skin while honey exfoliates the skin and fights inflammation. Leave on for 10-20 minutes then wipe off gently. Do not wash your skin with soap for a few hours, and repeat this treatment every day until your skin is healed, avoiding harsh chemical soaps that will destroy all your progress.

#2 Yogurt and avocado face mask for moisturizing your face.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt

Directions: Mash the avocado along with yogurt. Mix well. Then pat the mask all over your clean face avoiding your eyes. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse with water.

#3 Oatmeal and avocado face mask

Ingredients :

  • ½ ripe avocado
  • ½ cup oatmeal

Directions: Cook the oatmeal according to the instructions on the packet, mash the avocado flesh and mix it with the oatmeal. Apply the mixture to your skin and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Then wash your face with warm water and pat your face with a towel.

#4 Avocado and Cucumber Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Avocado, chopped
  • ½ cup cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • One egg white
  • 2 teaspoons powdered milk

Directions: Mix all these ingredients in a blender to form the smooth paste you desire. Apply this mask to your skin and leave for about 30 minutes; you may leave it on till it dries. Then remove the mask using warm water and afterward rinse with cold water. Pat dry using a soft towel.
