How to Create the Perfect Bath Routine for Healthy and Glowing Skin

01/04/2021 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  Leave a Comment

Taking a long, relaxing bath is always a good idea. Not only that it’s the perfect way to decompress after a busy week, but it’s also the ideal time to give your skin a more luxurious treatment.

Do you wonder if it’s possible to enjoy a spa-quality treatment at home?

The answer is a resounding ‘yes’.

Bathtub

With a bit of research, you can find the products and ingredients that your skin best responds to. Then you can develop a routine around these products.

Read on to learn how to create the perfect bath routine that will help you maintain healthy and glowing skin.

Pour a Cup of Bath Salts in Your Bathtub

Bath salt

Start your bath routine by pouring a cup of unscented Epsom salt into the water. Epsom salt is a naturally occurring mineral salt composed of magnesium and sulfates. Because it quickly dissolves in water, specialists agree that the magnesium and the sulfates get absorbed by the skin. Thus, the salt can soothe sore muscles, reduce swelling, and relieve pain in the shoulders, back, and neck.

Since magnesium is associated with an increase in serotonin production in the brain (the happiness hormone), Epsom salt can put you in a general state of well-being. It also makes the water feel softer on the skin. In just 15 minutes of soaking, you will notice the physical and mental benefits.

Apply a Face Mask

Apply your favorite face mask while you bathe. A homemade or organic face mask will cleanse and nourish your skin, thus improving your complexion. Natural ingredients such as honey, matcha tea, cacao powder, eggs, or clay powder have excellent detoxifying and nourishing effects on your skin. And who doesn’t have an egg or green tea in the kitchen?

Natural face masks are easy to make, non-toxic, and have many skin-boosting benefits. Make your own face mask using a DIY recipe, and then apply the face mask while you soak. Let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes, and then wash it off.

Exfoliate with a Good Body Scrub

After soaking for at least 15 minutes, you are ready to move on to the next step: exfoliation.

Although some women prefer to use exfoliating gloves, you can give yourself a good scrub without gloves. While DIY body scrubs can be effective, they make a lot of mess, and they lack those delightful scents that make exfoliation such as pleasant process.

To get out of the tub with soft, glowing skin, use a good body scrub made with natural ingredients. Try an exfoliating body scrub made with minerals from Dead Sea salt and vitamin E. It will cleanse, nourish, and moisturize your skin all at once, so you can leave the tub with healthy-looking and supple skin.

Every aspect of your daily life has an impact on the health of your skin. Nutrition, sleep, exercise, stress, air quality, sun exposure, and pollution are only a few of the factors that dictate how healthy or unhealthy your skin looks. Considering how much the skin suffers due to environmental factors, make sure to give your skin a luxurious, health-enhancing treatment regularly.
