Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo and Silk18 Conditioner

29/10/2015 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  2 Comments

When I was in my 20s, my hair was very oily, oily enough that I rarely used a conditioner. As I grew older, my hair became normal, and sometimes even dry; depending on the weather conditions.

One of the best natural hair conditioners I have ever known is argan oil. I was very excited when I received a bottle of organic argan oil from Morocco! I sometimes oily my hair with argan oil and leave it all night long, and sometimes I apply a tiny amount to control frizzy hair. Since then, I am always seeking for hair care products that contain argan oil.

Maple Holistic Shampoo and Silk18 Conditioner

I asked my readers once to share their thoughts about their best hair care products. One of my lovely readers suggested using Maple Holistics products. I have not used any of Maple Holistics products, then, so I added it to my wish list.

Few weeks later, Maple Holistics contacted me asking if I am interested in trying some of their products. “Of course, I would love to”, I replied.

Maple Holistics is trying to provide a natural, holistic range of premium products, which can enhance hygiene, health, and daily living. In Maple Holistics, they use the purest and highest quality ingredients in making shampoos, facial masks, and bath soaks.

I received Argan Shampoo and Silk18 Conditioner. Did it work for me, keep on reading to find out!

Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo

The first thing that I noticed about this shampoo is that it is sulfate-free, meaning healthy scalp and no irritating chemicals. In addition, there are no parabens, it is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, and is safe for color-treated hair.

I like that it contains 100% pure oils including argan, jojoba, peach kernel, avocado, almond, and camellia seed.

I usually wash my hair every other day, sometimes shampoo it once, and sometimes twice if it is very oily. On the first application, I do not get a great lather, but on the second application, it really does lather up. I only use a quarter-sized amount as mentioned on the bottle for my shoulder length hair, and I find it fair enough.

While messaging my hair, there is a light mix of vanilla and honey fragrance that disappear as soon I rinse my hair. If I am to choose between artificial fragrance and no fragrance, I prefer the no fragrance shampoo. I understand that argan oil has a light nutty smell that does not last for long; maybe that is why there is no strong scent of this shampoo.

The package is very practical; it allows me to get the right amount of product, which is great. No wasted shampoo in the shower!

Maple Holistics Argan Shampoo cleans my hair very well. My only concern about it is that it dries my hair. I find that my hair becomes dry after using this shampoo (without using the conditioner) though it makes it easy to manage my hair, no frizzy (thanks to botanical keratin), but still I feel it is dry after shampooing especially the ends of my strands.

Another thing to mention is that sometimes (depending whether my hair is very oily or not) it did not lather up, but when I apply a second time, it lathered up great.

I usually avoid using a conditioner every time I shampoo my hair. I feel that conditioners build all sorts of chemicals on my hair, and some of them even weigh down my hair and makes my thinning hair look thinner.

Maple Holistics Silk18 Conditioner has its name from the fact that it contains eighteen different silk amino acids. After shampooing my hair, I apply the conditioner to my hair and message for few minutes (directions were on a card I received with the products, it says 1-2 minutes), then rinse, preferably with cool water.

The conditioner has a light creamy texture that makes you think it disappears once applied, but when rinsed, you feel the silky strands. It has a light vanilla scent that does not last for long.

I like that this conditioner contains no silicones, no sulfates, and no parabens, it is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly and is safe for color-treated hair.

My Over All Experience

For someone with thin and frizzy hair, it is a challenge to find hair care products that would clean my hair and leave it shiny, smooth, frizzy-free, tangle-free, and without losing its volume. Maple Holistics Argan shampoo and Silk18 conditioner did the job properly 🙂

Keeping in mind that these two products are sulfate-free, paraben-free, and safe for color treated hair, I recommend these two products for all hair types. The conditioner will be necessary for those of normal-dry hair like mine, but those with oily hair may skip the conditioner.

In addition to hair care products, Maple Holistics also has a wide range of body and baths, and skin care products, visit Maple Holistics website to see the full range of products.

Have you ever used any of Maple Holistics products? What is your favorite hair care product?

It sounds like a nice brand of haircare. But like you, I prefer a good lather. Have you found that it always needs a second washing to lather up, or has it gotten better at lathering on the first wash?

Yes, Maple Holistics is a good brand for hair!
As I mentioned in my post, I wash my hair every other day. Since it is very hot these days, and my hair gets oily so fast, it needs a second washing. But this is not the case when it is not very oily.
