Summer Must-Have: Natural Deodorant from Purelygreat

Published by

Summer is a beautiful season for enjoying all kinds of activities, if only it was sweat-free, don’t you think so?!

For the past ## years, I have used all kinds of deodorants; roll-on, sticks, spray, some of which were disappointing. Over-the-counter deodorants are usually antiperspirant, but were only effective for just a few hours. Not only that, but also they have health problems that we are all aware of.

I received lately Purelygreat Natural Cream Deodorant to try out. The day I received Purelygreat deodorant was a hot summer day, actually, it was very hot the whole week; 95+ degrees Fahrenheit (or 35+ degrees Celsius).

Does Purelygreat Natural Cream Deodorant Work?

On day one, I took a shower, applied Purelygreat deodorant; by taking a small amount (size of a dime) on my fingertip and applying it down the center of my armpit, rubbing gently until smooth. Then I did the usual housework, and cooked launch.

I was expecting to smell bad by noon…

Since Purelygreat uses only three ingredients; natural soda, cornstarch, and vegetable glycerin (plus essential oils), I was not expecting too much from this deodorant. However, I was surprised how this deodorant gives full protection from bad odor; absorb sweat, and saving me from those embarrassing moments when my shirt gets wet.

I tried three of their products, Unscented Cream Deodorant, Women’s Lavender Cream Deodorant, and Women’s Citrus Cream Deodorant. All three were great, but there were minor differences.

Unscented Cream Deodorant is great for absorbing odor and preventing bad armpit odor, but it has no smell.

Women’s Lavender and Women’s Citrus Cream Deodorant both have a lovely scent, gave me great protection from odor smell for all day long, but both left traces on my shirts and slightly oily armpits.

Have a look at Purelygreat deodorant ingredients.

Women’s Citrus

Ingredients: natural soda-sodium Bicarbonate U.S.P., corn starch, vegetable glycerin

Essential oils: grapefruit-citrus paradis, orange- citrus sinensis, geranium-pelargonium graveolens, lime key-citrus aurantifolia, cypress-cupresus sempervirens, coriander-coriandrum sativum

Women’s Lavender

Ingredients: natural soda-sodium Bicarbonate U.S.P., corn starch, vegetable glycerin

Essential oils: grapefruit-citrus paradis, orange- citrus sinensis, geranium-pelargonium graveolens, cypress-cupresus sempervirens, lavender-lavendula offichinalis, coriander-coriandrum sativum

Unscented

Ingredients: natural soda-sodium Bicarbonate U.S.P., corn starch, vegetable glycerin

Essential oils: NONE

This is a water-based all natural product and will wash out of clothes unless you use too much.

Do not apply any deodorant immediately after you shave.

As you get near the bottom of the jar the cream deodorant may start drying – just add a bit of water and stir!

You will need to stir it each time before applying since vegetable glycerin tends to rise to the top.

My Overall Experience

Purelygreat deodorants kept me smelling just fine all day long 🙂

The short ingredients’ list is so simple, and consists of three natural ingredients that make me feel comfortable when using it. Since it allows my body to sweat (but not smell ;)), it has no long-term health issues. I love how it is all natural; free of preservatives, aluminum, and parabens. In addition, one jar provides 2-3 months of daily protection.

If only there was an easier way to apply, rather than using my finger, where I have to wash my hands before and after applying the cream deodorant, it would be great. Also, I found that the unscented deodorant is more secure for very hot summer days, because it keeps my under arms dry, while the scented ones has a slight oily feeling due to the essential oils. Other than that, all Purelygreat deodorants are really great for giving a full protection for the whole day.

There is deodorants for all family members; women, men, and teens. You can find Purelygreat products at Amazon, and their website. Make sure to check them all at Purelygreat.com.

  • Although I am concerned about the aluminum in my antiperspirant, I just can't make the switch to a natural deodorant. I can't believe it's been 95 degree in Amman! It has still been so cold here, that I had to turn the heat on again last week. Stay cool

    • It was a huge difference, Allison!

Applying deodorant using my fingers is not something that I like, especially that my fingers get greasy and I have to wash my hands after applying it.
I don't think I would take this deodorant with me on vacations, because the packaging is not 100% secured, but for using at home, I do prefer this aluminum free deodorant, because it works!
Yes, it's been very hot lately, earlier than we thought! But today it is a bit cooler :)

  • Have you ever considered trying Lavilin? I see it everywhere now, and it seems like it's grown a lot in popularity over the years!

    • Haven't yet, but I would love to try one of Lavilin products one day!

  • Creative but not sure I will the application method, I prefer to just take it from deodorant to arm. The fact that this is a natural deodorant is what makes it great though.
