A Touch of Love by EMMAUS Mini Towels

EMMAUS Mini Towels A Touch of Love

We all spend time taking care of our faces. However, how many of you take a good care of their body?

Giving your body a bath everyday may seem fine, but not good enough to show how much you care about it. As your face needs moisturizing, and exfoliating, so do your body.

We all deserve a touch of love, and what could need more care and love than your own body?!

I should admit that I have been ignoring that fact for some time, but not anymore! EMMAUS taught me that few minutes a day is more than enough to show my body that I care!

I use a loofah every day in the shower for exfoliating, still, my skin tends to dry and becomes itchy from now and then especially in dry weather. Moisturizing seems to be the best choice, but it should be done the right way. I mean I should remove all those dead skin cells before applying my body lotion.

There is where EMMAUS Mini Towels comes to a rescue!

EMMAUS is a skincare line launched by the Nigerian Beauty Entrepreneur, Aminah Sagoe; a very kind and friendly person whom I had the chance to meet online 🙂

EMMAUS says:

“Our Mini Towels are thick, large, and luxurious. Soaked in our proprietary blend of Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Witch Hazel, and Arginine. Packaged individually to preserve its potency and exclusively formulated to help skin conditions such as Keratosis Pilaris (KP), Psoriasis, Eczema, Body Acne, dark spots & discoloration. Watch as soft, smooth, glowing, and blemish free skin is revealed.”

How does EMMAUS Mini Towels Work?

The two main ingredients Glycolic Acid, and Salicylic Acid, are of the AHAs family; both are chemical peels derived from natural sources (Glycolic acid derived from sugarcane and salicylic acid from fruits). AHAs exfoliate your skin by removing the most upper skin layer, revealing healthier, younger looking, and even toned complexion. I have mentioned AHAs in my previous posts, and tried several peels on my face, including Dr Song Lactic acid peel, but this is the very FIRST one for my body. I do believe these mini towels by EMMAUS are one of their kind!

EMMAUS Mini Towels A Touch of Love

On day one, I followed instructions, and used EMMAUS Mini Towels on my arms and legs. There was a slight sting that I am used to when using peels on my face, nothing serious though. I found that one towel is fair enough for me, though this may differ from one person to another. You know when you are done with the towel when it is completely dry. I used them every other day, one at a time, and followed by body lotion.

The towels are thick and once you open the package, the towel has a smell similar to salicylic acid, a smell that reminds me of chemistry lab at college. If you use an AHA peel, then you know exactly what I am talking about. However, do not worry, the smell is mild and disappears quickly, and as you massage your skin you start to smell citrus scent.

After each use, my skin becomes smooth, no dry skin, no itchy feeling, but incredibly soft. I noticed that my knees and elbows are softer and slightly lighter skin tone. I suppose 10 towels are not enough to show visible difference. Since EMMAUS recommends using 2-3 boxes in order to see a significant difference, I guess I should wait longer to see if it works for me.

My Overall Experience

EMMAUS mini towels helped me with eczema, smoothen dry skin, and get rid of ingrown hairs. There was also a slight lightening of pigmentation. My knees and elbows are much softer with a little bit lighter complexion.

If only these mini towels were cheaper; one box costs $70 (shipping costs $5 for orders under $100 and free shipping on orders $100 and above, US only), especially that one needs 2-3 boxes to show visible results. Nevertheless, I do recommend EMMAUS mini towels for special occasions like for a bride to be, and for those who suffer from eczema. You can shop these towels on EMMAUS website along with their other beauty products.

*Though the brand sent me this product for review, all opinions are my own, and completely based on my own experience.
