The 4 Skincare Products You’re Missing Out On

22/06/2023 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  Leave a Comment

Since the beginning of the age of the internet influencer, skincare has gotten a whole lot more complicated and, quite frankly, overwhelming.

There is a multitude of products and ingredients that everyone is insisting you need, and while you shouldn’t always be listening to all these voices, you might be missing out if you close your ears too tightly.

We’re here to break down some of the more niche products and ingredients that are popular in the influencer space – the ones that you’re probably missing out on if you’re not buying into them.

Vitamin A

Starting off nice and easy is the powerhouse skincare ingredient: vitamin A. It sounds simple enough, and it’s a vitamin we need to focus on eating enough of each day (in your broccoli, people).

However, it’s also incredible for your skin. Vitamin A is often referred to as retinol in the online skincare space, and it’s a powerful antioxidant proven to stimulate collagen production, even out your skin tone, and give you a glowing, flawless look. Before you start shopping, learn more about vitamin A and what it can do for your skin.

Niacinamide

Another popular skincare ingredient that’s worth looking into is niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3. This is another great ingredient that has far-reaching benefits for many skin problems, even though it has a seemingly complicated name.

Vitamin B3 can help regulate the oil production in your skin and reduce the size of your pores to improve your skin texture. It also nourishes and strengthens your skin barrier (to assist with breakouts) and helps to fade scars and pigmentation. You can find niacinamide in products of various sorts, including serums and moisturizers, and it’s definitely worth looking into.

Propolis

bee propolis

Bee propolis is a natural skin ingredient that lightens and brightens your skin while also fighting acne and minimizing signs of aging. Sounds like magic, right? That’s because naturally derived products usually are, and we all know bees always take care of us.

This soothing and healing ingredient is also antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, making it a good choice for overall improved skin health for people with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Look out for products like serums or masks that contain propolis on the ingredients list and let the magic wash over your skin – these products should leave you feeling great after just one use.

Bakuchiol

This is a name you might not have heard before, but it’s made the list because of how effective we think it is. Bakuchiol could be considered a gentler alternative to retinol, which can sometimes cause irritation for certain people.

Unlike retinol, bakuchiol is usually well tolerated, even by those with sensitive skin, and therefore acts as a great option for collagen production and anti-aging. This ingredient is derived from the Babchi plant, and its natural origins explain how gentle and soothing bakuchiol products are. Ask around for a bakuchiol serum to add to your skincare routine if retinol doesn’t agree with you, and watch the results.
