Hypnotic Skinssentials Skincare Review

21/04/2016 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  3 Comments

What would you do if your skin becomes very dry? Use body butter? Lotion? Or maybe a cream?

Would that solve your skin issue?

Most forget that you need to treat your dry skin before moisturizing it. Just like you need to prepare the wall before painting it, the same applies to your skin; you need to EXFOLIATE your skin before moisturizing.

The reason why exfoliating is so important is that dead skin cells will stay on top of your skin unless you remove them, removing them will allow new healthy cells to take place and will give your skin a healthy glowing look.

Therefore, you should always look for a skin care regimen that understands your skin needs.

I was happy to receive such a good skin care regimen from a Canadian brand called Hypnotic Skinssentials.

Hypnotic Skinssentials Skincare Review

Hypnotic Skinssentials is a Vancouver based, chemical free company, against animal testing, and a member of the Canadian Health Food Association, their products are free from parabens.

Hypnotic Skinssentials sent me six products (sample sizes); here is a quick look at each of them.

Hypnotic Skinssentials Skincare Review body scrub

Natural Body Scrub – FRESH Exfoliant (dry/mature skin)

This scrub is meant to be used for the face, though it is called “body scrub”.

It is made with organic avocado and hemp seed oil and smells like avocado. The scrub contains medium sized grains that I think would be fine for most.

Using this scrub is as most exfoliants, you will need to rub the product in a circular motion over your face (recommended for at least 30 seconds) while avoiding the eye area and then rinse off with lukewarm water. You can use it for 1-2 times per week depending on your skin type.

For my combination skin, using it for 2 times a week was good enough for removing dead skin cells and giving it a healthy glow. I like how it gives my skin a silky touch.

Ingredients: Aloe leaf juice, (jojoba oil), (sunflower) oil, cannabis Sativa (organic hemp seed) oil, (avocado) oil, (sweet almond) oil,  vegetable glycerin, aqua, (hydrolyzed oats), stearic acid, emulsifying wax, pumice, tocopherol (vitamin e),  potassium, and preservative (grapefruit seed extract). Fragrance: Fresh blend.

Hypnotic Skinssentials Skincare Review milk cleanser

Organic Face Cleanser – ROSE AND CHAMOMILE MILK

I usually cleanse my face twice daily, but sometimes I just skip the cleanser if my skin feels so dry and wash my face with water alone. I found that soap free cleansers are best for combination skin that tends to dry in the cheeks area.

The Hypnotic Skinssentials is supposed to lather in your palm then you have to message for 1 minute before you rinse with warm water. It did not give a thick lather, but I did not worry about that as it cleaned my face gently without making it dry. Since it is a cleansing milk, it is suitable for sensitive skin prone to redness and to dry skin, too.

Ingredients: Infused herbs of (hibiscus), (rose petals), (spearmint leaves), (willow bark) and (calendula). Rose flower water, aloe leaf juice, vegetable glycerin, Aqua, (green tea extract) gum, tocopherol and cicatricial-preservative (grapefruit seed extract.)
Essential oils: Hypnotic Blend.

Natural Skin Toner – HERBAL Spray Toner

If you have an oily or combination skin, applying a toner is essential for minimizing pores. You can also use this toner if you have normal skin.

It has a strong herbal smell that lasts for a few minutes, and then it tends to smell like lemon, nice, right?!

Ingredients: (witch hazel). Rose hydrosol, and apple cider vinegar. Essential oils: Hypnotic Blend

Natural Body Scrub – MIMOSA

This is the product that I was so excited about! It has a citrusy delicious aroma that makes you wish to eat it!

Use it by simply massage onto dry skin, moving upwards in circular movements. Rinse off in a bath or shower cleanse afterward with body wash and finish with body butter.

Even after hours of using this scrub, it still smelled citrusy. It left my skin so smooth and shiny.

Ingredients:
Sucrose, (sunflower) oil, vegetable glycerin. (sweet almond) oil, (rice) bran oil and (avocado) oil. Fragrance: Mimosa Blend.

Hypnotic Skinssentials Skincare Review body butter

Natural Body Butter – HYPNOTIC

I received shea and Hemp body butter. Because it is a butter and contains shea butter, I expected it to leave my skin greasy. On the contrary, my skin absorbed the butter so quickly and felt so smooth. It has a mix of creamy vanilla, rose, and citrus blends.

Ingredients:
Calendula oil, (shea nut), (organic hemp) seed oil, (avocado oil), (sweet almond) oil, vegetable glycerin, aloe leaf juice, aqua, emulsifying wax, potassium, Tocopheryl (vitamin e) and preservative grapefruit seed extract. Essential oils/: Hypnotic Blend.

Hypnotic Skinssentials Skincare Review milk bath powder

Milk Bath Powder – CLEOPATRA

This mix of ylang-ylang and vanilla bath powder was named after the famous Cleopatra, simply because it contains Whole milk powder.

Milk contains lactic acid, which gently exfoliates your skin and reveals new healthy skin. And this bath powder is just what you need at the end of the day. Use by dissolving a generous amount of the Milk Bath powder under hot running water.

Ingredients: Whole milk powder, Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate), cornstarch and cocoa butter. Essential oils: Cleopatrablend

Have you ever tried any of the above products? Are you interested in trying any of them? Tell me in the comments.

*Though the brand sent me those products, all opinions are my own and based on my own experience.
