14 Potent Vitamins for Younger and Healthier Skin (Infographic)

Vitamins play an important role in your overall well-being as well as the health of your skin. Vitamins rich foods are full of healing properties and can delay aging. Certain foods can also help in the prevention of acne and other skin ailments such as eczema and psoriasis.

When incorporated into your daily diet, these foods can help you look years younger. They not only improve your appearance, but also your health in a number of ways. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best sources of vitamins. Here are some basic vitamins which are great for your skin:

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is available from foods such as carrots, sweet potatoes, dark leafy greens, and fish. Deficiency of this Vitamin can lead to dull, flaky skin and cause problems such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Vitamin B

A powerful antioxidant, Vitamin B and is found in food sources such as kidney beans, whole grain cereals, mushrooms and spinach. Deficiency can lead to dry and wet Beriberi, wrinkles and age spots. Excessively dry skin might also be caused by this deficiency.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C gives you healthy and supple skin. Lack of this can cause skin aging and hyperpigmentation. It is found in sources such as tomatoes, citrus fruits, dark leafy greens and bell peppers.

Vitamin D

Deficiency in Vitamin D can cause acne, wrinkles, and itchy skin. It is found in foods such as mushrooms, tofu, and fish.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E boosts your natural immunity and enhances skin renewal. Dark Leafy greens, nuts, and avocado are rich sources of this vitamin. This vitamin is one of the most popular as far as skin care is concerned.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K is found in foods such as egg yolks, liver, Kale, romaine lettuce and cabbage. Deficiency causes skin irritations, stretch marks, and dark circles. Another effect is that it can accelerate skin aging and increase spider veins.
