7 Wonderful Benefits of Cucumber for Healthy Skin

They say as “cool as cucumber”. The green plant product indeed leaves a cooling impact on our body, both internally and externally. While eating cucumber does our digestive system a world of good, using them externally also helps us maintain a glowing skin and it strongly deals with reasons that causes pimples. The high water content in cucumbers along with vitamins and minerals and the low-calorie composition make them one of the best natural ingredients to maintain a good health.

In this article, we will have a look at what benefits the cool cucumber offers to our skin:

#1 Gives Healthy and Younger-looking Skin

Cucumber single-handedly resolves several skin problems and gives it a glowing effect. Its cooling properties act as a natural toner. If you have oily skin, you can use cucumbers to calm down your skin. You can also use cucumber juice to cleanse the skin, get rid of spots, and tackle reasons that cause pimples. On the other hand, the extremely high water content of cucumbers helps moisturize your skin.

Tip: Apply a mixture of cucumber pulp and oatmeal on your face to remove skin blemishes.

#2 Helps in Hydrating Your Skin

Cucumber is also great for dry skin. It is rich in water that helps hydrate your skin. Besides being used as a ready alternative to a moisturizer, cucumber, if mixed with curd or yogurt, can also serve as an excellent hydrating pack.

#3 Deals with Sunburn Tanned Skin and Rashes

Cucumbers mixed with raw milk cure sunburns. You can also use it as a natural bleach to treat tanned skin and scarring spots.

#4 Controls Pimples

There are various reasons that cause pimples, like eating spicy food, smoking, using skin and hair products that result in blocking the skin pores. To open up the clogged pores, cucumber can be of great help. The antioxidants in cucumbers cure skin inflammation easily and clean up the clogged skin pores by removing the excessive oil. Apply a paste of cucumber pulp, turmeric powder and lemon juice on affected areas, leave it on for 15 minutes, and then wash off.

#5 Have Anti-aging Impact on Your Skin

Cucumbers could tighten the skin and reduce signs of aging – like wrinkles, fine lines, and dull skin. A combination of cucumber, lemon juice, and egg white can be a handy remedy for the dull skin and damaged cells.

#6 Cures Dark Circles

A stressed life cycle often results in the appearance of dark circles and swollen eyes. Cucumber is known for its cooling properties and the silica content that rejuvenates the skin. The common skincare scene of women placing slices of cucumbers on their eyelids is not really without a benefit. Use cotton balls soaked in cucumber juice to give relief to your eyes or by just splashing some cucumber juice around your eyes to give much relief and refresh the area around your eyes.

#7 Help Gets Rid of Cellulite

Cellulite is a common problem for women, nevertheless, cucumbers could help get rid of it. Make a thick mixture of ground coffee, cucumber juice, and raw honey and apply to the affected areas. You might also want to add cucumber to your meals to prevent cellulite.

Besides offering several skin benefits, cucumbers also benefits your hair and general health – things like preventing different types of cancer and ailments like diabetes and maintaining a healthy renal system.

Cucumber is great, still, you need a whole healthy skincare regime to fight acne. Try cleaning your skin every day, use a non-comedogenic moisturizer and foundation (one that does not clog your pores), and exfoliate 2-3 times a week. Hope this works!
