The 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine You Should Know and Try

29/05/2017 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  1 Comment

Have you ever noticed that Koreans have beautiful skin?

The secret to this beauty is the Korean cosmetic beauty routine; a beauty routine that everyone on the internet has been talking about.  Though it consists of 10-steps, you do not have to do them all every day, it is more about the variety of products that you can use depending on your skin type and needs. Knowing that cleansing, toning, and moisturizing is the key to healthy skin, Korean beauty routine brings it to the next level.

Remember that in order to achieve the flawless, beautiful, and youthful skin, you have to use the right combination of products.

Korean woman

Here you will learn the 10 steps to the flawless skin using the Korean beauty routine. When you follow the steps closely, you can enjoy the skin that you want and need.

#1 Gather Your Supplies

Before you get started, make sure you have your wash cloth and all the supplies you will need. It may be wise to scan the list to make sure you have everything before you get involved in the cleansing routine.

#2 Choose Your Cleanser

Cleansing skin

There are two basic cleanser types that you should use; oil based cleanser and water based cleanser. The oil based cleanser is used first for removing oil-based makeup, impurities, and SPF protection. The water based cleanser will remove any leftover residue and leave your skin feeling supple. The benefit of this double-cleansing system is to make sure that your skin and pores are completely clean and ready for the next.

#3 Toners

The beauty heritage of Koreans is steeped in the natural ingredients that have been passed down from one generation to the next. Today, the tradition has continued with toner formulas that don’t use any harsh chemicals. A toner will help moisturize your skin and prepare it for the next step.

#4 Essence

Essence

Essence is the heart of the Korean beauty routine. Essences are formulated with a different consistency, which is more fluid and much less concentrated than traditional serums. The main purpose of essences is to moisturize the skin and help to make the most of the serums that you will use next.

#5 Ampoules and Serums

There are serums that target different skin needs of the skin, including a loss of firmness, fine lines, dehydration or hyperpigmentation. You can customize the products you use from this point – adding to or taking away from the routine as needed.

#6 Moisturize

Moisturize

There are two moisturizers to use. The eye cream will be used to hydrate the thin skin around your eyes and an overall moisturizer will provide a barrier that locks in the ingredients that have just been applied instead of them evaporating.

#7 Protect

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a must apply in Korea. Moreover, it the key step that protects your skin from skin cancer, premature aging, and skin discoloration. Make sure that you apply a sunscreen before heading out each day. This will protect your face from harmful UV rays.

#8 Exfoliators

Exfoliating not only cleanse your skin but also removes all dead and dull skin cells, thus reveals a more radiant and more healthy skin from beneath. You should use a non-irritating, gentle exfoliator two to three times each week to help unclog pores and promote cell turnover. Many Koreans use peels that allow the dead skin to roll off by using fruit extracts and botanical ingredients.

#9 Sheet Masks

Sheet masks are a good way to pamper your skin once or twice a week. Sheet masks are designed with the same ingredients as a serum, so there are masks for brightening your skin, and others for moisturizing. When you use a sheet mask, you can skip the serum that night.

#10 Sleeping Masks

The sleeping masks are worn overnight to regenerate your skin while you are sleeping. These are full of active ingredients and will remain on your skin throughout the night. These masks are specially formulated to help ensure your skin wakes up refreshed, supple and youthful looking.

Korean beauty products seem to be the new beauty trend, not only there are a plenty of good choices in the market, but also they are unique for their smart application technology.

When you follow the ten steps here, you will be able to achieve great looking, supple skin that will make you proud. Make sure you follow the steps mentioned, keeping in mind your skin type and needs, to achieve the desired results.
