Published by

Next week, my husband and I are planning to go to the beach along with our kids. My kids are so excited, and so do I!

Though spending a few days on the beach could be fun, especially that we get the chance to spend most of the time together as a family, it is also the perfect time to get heat stroke and dehydration.

To avoid this from happening, it is important that we limit sun exposure and drink lots of liquid to stay hydrated. Aside from chugging on glasses of water, have these foods to avoid dehydration.

#1 Cucumber

Cucumber quenches thirst the same as a glass of water as it has 95% water content. It’s also a great source of vitamin C and fiber.

They are commonly tossed as added ingredients to the vegetable salad.

Be creative in incorporating cucumber to some of your favorite dishes. Try this creamy cucumber soup recipe for a refreshing and healthy choice:

  • Over medium-high heat, cook onion and garlic for 1-4 minutes or until they become tender. Add lemon juice and stir for 1 minute. Add broth, cucumber slices, pepper, salt, and cayenne. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until the cucumbers are soft.
  • Transfer the soup to a blender and add parsley and avocado. Using low speed, blend until the mixture is smooth. Transfer into a serving bowl and add in yogurt. Top of with few cucumber slices.

#2 Celery

Steps:

  • Remove dirt by washing the apple and celery sticks
