Top 5 Effective Oils For Scars

Published by

When there is a wound on the skin (lesions, cuts, burns), the body will produce special tissue to heal the wound. The skin that is healed is called a scar. Scars not only damage the skin surface but also make people feel guilty and self-deprecating in life. I will share with you how to solve this problem with the help of five oils.

How do scars form?

The wound healing process takes place through three stages: the inflammatory phase, the proliferation stage, and the reproductive stage (repair) of the organ. These three stages usually occur in 3-6 months. Any disorder that occurs at any stage of the scarring process affects the normal course of life as well as the quality of the scar.

What are the Abnormal Scars?

A scar is thought to be normal when the scar is flat across the surrounding healthy skin, pinkish in color, slightly glossy, soft, no pulling around the skin, without any symptoms in place. Abnormal scars are distinctive in the structures, characteristics and they are usually a concern.

1)    Concave scars

Also known as pitted scars, which usually appear after acne and infected skin lesions associated with yellow Staphylococcus or smallpox. This type of scars usually do not cause local symptoms such as pain, itching or scuffing, but it does have a significant impact on the aesthetic of the skin, sometimes producing scars and cavities.  Dirt and bacteria are very susceptible to causing inflammatory infections.

2)    Stretch marks

Stretch marks are the most common form of this scar. Flexible scars can appear at completely normal skin areas (no previous skin lesions). The formation of dilated scars is thought to be the result of excessive stretching for a short time, such as pregnancy, hyper – excessive weight loss.

3)    Keloids and Hypertrophic Scars

Keloids are exceptionally large scars that grow bigger than the size of the original wound. Keloid is caused by excessive accumulation of collagen in the mesoderm, the middle layer of the skin.  Although considered benign, keloidal scars sometimes may cause symptoms such as pain or itchiness.

Hypertrophic scars are also due to an imbalance between the two processes of collagen synthesis and decomposition. However, hypertrophic scars commonly do not exceed the original wound.

Secondary infections are the main reason for hypertrophic scars and keloids.  Keloids need careful examination by a dermatologist. You should not try to remove keloid scars by any methods without consultation.

  3. You could use rose essential oil as a moisturizer to regenerate and strengthen the skin

You should do it regularly every night before going to bed until the scars fade away and disappear completely.

Note: Permanent scars have a wide area and deep cavities that cannot be dimmed by the application of these methods.

Finally, you should consult your doctor before using any essential oil for scars because of the risk of allergy. However, essential oils for scars removal are one of the most economical and effective methods available. Remember that you can prevent scars by the diligent care of the wound and a sufficient intake of vitamin C and zinc.
