Brushing Wet Hair, Is it Right or Wrong?

15/04/2015 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  4 Comments

Brushing your hair is one of the everyday routines. When taking a shower, most of us brush directly after the shower. However, is that right or wrong?

This is wrong, but why?

Brushing hair is one of the everyday routine. When taking a shower, most of us brush directly after the shower. However, is that right or wrong? visit https://www.tipsfornaturalbeauty.com/brushing-wet-hair-is-it-right-or-wrong to know the answer!

Wet hair is sensitive and more capable to damage. When you brush your hair, you are exerting pressure to force strands to get apart. Too much stress may break off your strands and fall out.

The right way to brush your hair:

  • Dry your hair with a towel or a blow dryer before brushing to keep it from falling out.
  • Use a wide-tooth comb to brush wet tresses.
  • Treat your strands gently.
  • Hold your hair and do not pull it while brushing.

Whether the hair is wet or not, combing should start at the tips to prevent exerting pressure on the roots of the hair.

Thanks for this tip, you are right, when combing hair we should not force the hair brush through your hair.

If I wait until my hair is dry to brush it, all the tangles will be impossible to get out. I use a Tangle Teezer and gently brush it when it is towel dried. I never have any problems and my hair is down to my finger tips, so clearly it is working for me.
