Alpha Hydroxy Acids Natural Face Mask (Video of the week)

11/05/2014 //  by Dima Al Mahsiri//  5 Comments

As a way of adding some spices to my blog, I decided to post a new video from now and then. The main aim is to introduce new health facts and new natural beauty tips in a fun way!

Today, I decided to choose a video about alpha hydroxy acids. Alpha hydroxy acids are used mainly in anti-aging skin products and in exfoliators. Actually, there are six kinds of those acids, but we mainly call them AHA’s. Natural sources of AHA’s are: sugar cane, milk and fruit. (Read this article for more details).

In seeking for natural beauty and reducing wrinkles on your face, you are free to choose either chemical sources or natural sources. Whenever possible, I do my best to use natural sources; since there is no guarantee that chemicals are free of side effects. In this video, eHow host illustrates how to make your own AHA’s face mask from fresh natural fruits, it is easy, safe, and delicious, too!

I love pineapple and pineapple juice. I have never bought a papaya, but why not! When I get back from my next biz trip this week, I will try this. I wish I had a fancy juicer, but I’ll try it in my blender. I’m considering mixing it with yogurt because I’d rather have a real “masque”, rather than an AHA toner. What do you think, Dima?

Adding yogurt to the recipe sounds interesting, if you try that, let me know !

    Hi Hira ,
    I love pineapple juice , too !
I did not try that, but I know that banana is a good anti-aging natural factor, it won’t hurt, unless your skin is allergic to banana.

I know papaya is being used in whitening soaps. Pineapple won’t hurt I think because it is packed with anti-oxidants (fruits generally are). Very cool mixture.
